Leslie (Bennett) Kittrell
Principal, The Bennett Agency, Inc.
Very few small businesses celebrate their Golden Anniversary, and we feel very blessed to have accomplished this milestone. My grandfather, Lawrence Bennett, started The Bennett Agency in Conway Springs, Kansas in 1958, while he was president of the First National Bank. He continued to serve the insurance needs of rural Midwest customers for the next 38 years. In 1996, my father, Brad Bennett, purchased the agency and has been committed to carrying on the values of unyielding customer satisfaction and client-focused solutions that his father worked so hard to instill. In 2018, I purchased the agency and continue a legacy of three generations. Our agents & employees work passionately with our growing customer base in the central part of the United States.

What’s the story behind this picture?
My wife, Shirley, and I have been married over four decades and shared wonderful adventures with family, friends, and business associates.
What gives you the most satisfaction about what you do at The Bennett Agency?
When I came to my father’s agency, we had a typewriter, phone, and calculator. Insuring our clients’ interests has always been our top priority and we now process information so quickly, professionally, and accurately.
Why is that important to you?
Being able to provide reliable service and satisfying customer needs each day is very rewarding.

I’ve been making music with family and great friends for the past 40 years, including our Bennett Brothers Band honored by being inducted into the Kansas Bluegrass Hall of Fame.

What’s the story behind this picture?
This photo was taken at my stepson’s senior prom. My husband and I welcomed our little boy in 2023. We are very lucky indeed!
What gives you the most satisfaction about what you do at Bennett Agency?
I really like helping people feel secure with the insurance they purchase and knowing we are there to help people with everything from a small fender bender to tornado or fire completely destroying their home.
Why is that important to you?
This is important to me because I know that customers want to feel like more than just a policy number, and here at The Bennett Agency, we take time to get to know customers and care about the best interest of our customers.

I volunteer as the curator at the Conway Springs Museum and hope to revitalize the museum to enrich the history of this small town.

What’s the story behind this picture?
This photo was taken at my baby girl’s baptism in March ’21. My wife and I have been blessed with four wonderful kids, and I am so grateful for my family and friends!
What gives you the most satisfaction about what you do at Bennett Agency?
I enjoy helping others in their time of need. When our customers are handed tough situations, I want to reduce their stress and help them through it any way I can.
Why is that important to you?
If our customers are dealing with major issues, I want to take care of their insurance/claim stress so they can focus on other priorities.

What’s the story behind the picture you chose?
I’m blessed with a beautiful, amazing wife and awesome kids. We love to laugh and life couldn’t be better!
What gives you the most satisfaction about what you do at Bennett Agency?
I enjoy helping good people and I get my highest satisfaction when a customer knows that our agency is honest and will always have their best interests in mind.
Why is that important to you?
Insurance can be confusing and frustrating, so I try to assist our customers to understand how it works. This knowledge helps them down the road, even if they’re no longer with our agency. At the end of the day, our job is to help people; so I like teaching them how to fish.

What’s the story behind this picture?
Updated family photos were a Mother’s Day gift from my children. I chose a flower farm not too far from our home when the colors were beautiful, and the flowers were taller than our youngest granddaughter.
What gives you the most satisfaction about what you do at Bennett Agency?
Making connections and building friendships with our customers is one of my favorite things about The Bennett Agency. I love watching families grow and businesses thrive and knowing our agency can serve our customers’ needs throughout their lives.
Why is that important to you?
We get to know our customers and learn what matters most to their family or business. Knowing how their lives have changed over the years allows us to adjust coverage to fit their needs.

I have an autographed basketball signed by the 1988 National Champion Kansas Jayhawks. I won the prize on the Coaches Corner show during the Big Eight tourney.
Ryan McLemore - Agent
What’s the story behind the picture you chose?
This “selfie” photo was taken while on a family and friends’ vacation to Cancun early summer 2024. We had an amazing time traveling with our family and friends from 6 different families making some great memories. What we enjoyed the most was being away together in a relaxed and beautiful setting different from the Kansas scenery we’re used to. If you look closely, you can see the black eye I received from ruff-housing kids while in the pool playing a game we invented called “flip ball”. We don’t have any big family trips planned for this year, but we can be found on most weekends, traveling western Kansas and Nebraska attending sporting events with our kids which currently include, softball, basketball, and volleyball.
What gives you the most satisfaction about what you do at Bennett Agency?
I enjoy meeting people and building new relationships while providing solutions and value to those I care about. I get the most satisfaction from sharing in the success of a winning team and the feeling of a job well done.

It is my goal to provide excellent service that leads to great interactions and long term relationships.

My wife and I have lived in Minnesota and California, and we love to travel.
